Worthwhile Investment August 18, 2009 D. Scott (Southern Indiana) An excellent publication for those who love the sport of powerlifting. Very useful tool for staying up to date on training and who's who in powerlifting.
old logo January 28, 2009 Gilbert Michaud (canada) mike should change this logo been the same for over 25 years.. good magazine but sometimes glossbrenner and simmons are over present.
GREAT magazine. May 12, 2006 S. Heim (USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I've made better gains in 4 magazines of POWERLIFTINGUSA than my 10+ years of Muscle&Fitness & Flex. No more mindless rep after rep of the same exersizes only to show little (if any) gains for your efforts. This is a MUST for those fed up with the 230 page fitness mags with over 200 of them being advertisements being jamed down your throat (no pun intended). If you want to make real gains you can't argue with the methods that are tried & true by those who squat over 1000lbs & bench 800+. I'm pushing more weight than ever & my joint pains are gone now that I'm lifting correctly & not the M&F way. Best weightlifter magazine period. Buy it now.
The best powerlfting magazine on the market September 24, 2005 C. Thompson (Kansas) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Powerlifting USA is the number one magazine for powerlifting news, training, and everything powerlifting-related. It features extensive meet results, interviews with top lifters and strength coaches as well as a number of regular columns.
The regular columns feature writers like Louie Simmons, Mario DiPasqual, Dave Tate, and other strength training legends. There is always the workout of the month to look forward to as well: each month an elite lifter shares his or her individual training routine and outlines a 12 week program that readers can follow and tailor to their own strength levels. Another thing I look forward to each month in PLUSA is the inevitable article or two dealing with the history of powerlifting, either by sharing/profiling specific legendary lifters or re-visiting a famous powerlifting competition of old.
The issues always arrive on time and the customer service is excellent. This is a no-fluff magazine with little advertisements and printed in black and white. It is, by far my favorite mag and I am always excited when I recieve my copy each month.
