Product Description The book Energy Tapping was a joint development of Fred Gallo and Harry Vincenzi. Any statements to the contrary in print or on the web are false. Energy psychology is a scientifically validated body of research and core set of treatment techniques that conceptualizes thoughts, feelings, emotions, and other psychological phenomena as manifestations of energy working though the system of the human body. If some psychological phenomenon is causing pain, distress, or a lack of function to an individual, the somatic techniques of energy psychology work to disrupt the flow of energy causing that phenomenon. One of the more common techniques in the energy psychology repertoire is called energy tapping, a practice, similar to acupressure, that involves manipulating and tapping certain points along the body's energy meridians to influence psychological events. In this new book, author Fred Gallo applies energy psychology techniques specifically to recovering from acute trauma and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Some techniques in this book are adapted from Energy Tapping by Fred Gallo and Harry Vincenzi. Energy Tapping for Trauma offers a concise overview of how trauma affects us and why certain aspects of traumatic experience can linger as post-traumatic stress. The book adapts energy psychology techniques into simple, effective strategies for "short-circuiting" the emotional problems associated with trauma. Throughout, the book advocates for a balanced and sensible "whole-person" approach to dealing with and recovering from a traumatic event.

Best Book on Trauma July 18, 2009 Pam Forrester (San Diego) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is more than a book on self-treatment for trauma and painful memories; it's a great book on self-treatment for trauma and painful memories! And the techniques work for so much more. Do you feel depressed? Try emotional stress relief or the eight-step process. Are you held down because on a deprived childhood? Try the unified self process. Do you feel that you're not making the most of your life and want to manifest the very best? Use the best possible self and gratitude processes. There's something for practically everyone here. Highly recommended!

Interesting. While I dont agree with all of the practices, some make sense and I use them.
Everyone Needs to Own this Book January 19, 2009 Robin Bilazarian (Mount Laurel, NJ) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This well-written book is packed with a variety of how-to approaches to combat trauma. It truly demonstrates it is not necessary for trauma to run you, but for you to take hold of the effects of trauma and treat it with simple, effective techniquee. Further, the techniques are also helpful for any emotional upset.
I have marked this book with many tabs because there are so many points worth reviewing. I have recommended this book to my closest colleagues and clients as well. I have incorporated the Eight Step Process into my practice with terrific results. Essentially it is a new way of thinking to gently stimulate acupoints for profound emotional release.
Are all these reviews written by other Authors wanting to promote their own work?? June 29, 2008 J. Wahl (Denver, CO) 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
Ok, so, I'm looking at buying this book. But, all the comments and reviews seem to be biased. They seem to be written by other authors, who then, promote their own books. Has anyone read this book besides friends of the author??? I'd like some REAL feedback, from a REAL person with PTSD.
This book will change your life November 26, 2007 Mariana Bozesan (San Francisco, CA USA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
After using, Dr. Gallo's energy psychology techniques for more than four years, I'm thrilled to see that his new book focuses on rapid relief from post traumatic stress. As a healer and practitioner, I am happy to report that not only are these techniques effective, they are ever lasting. They bring about quick, powerful release of negative emotions, thoughts and behavior patterns, and are particularly useful when traditional therapy approaches do not work. Best of all: they are fast, simple and accessible to everyone--unlike traditional psychotherapy which is slow, complicated and often prohibitively expensive.
